The Position
The primary role of this position is to ensure that the Operations/Sourcing Group is properly aligned to support New Product Development activities. The particular focus will be on the earliest stages of the development process. The ideal candidate will have experience in Sourcing and Supply Administration in a multi-plant environment. As a strategic and collaborative partner, this person will facilitate initial communication between suppliers and Company engineers. Management experience in leading a cross-functional sourcing team in Medical Device or Pharma Sourcing and electronics with significant NPI experience is a must.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or related business function is an absolute requirement along with 7+ years of experience within a progressive procurement function (to include a demonstrated track record in Global Sourcing and Medical Device manufacturing). ISM, CPM, APICS, CPIM certification is desirable. SAP knowledge/experience is also preferred. Travel expectancy is approximately 25%, both international and domestic. Senior Purchasing Manager – Growth Potential

The Position
The ideal candidate will have electrical component procurement experience with high mix/low volume. This person will be responsible for managing the inventory, supply base rationalization and vendor relationships. This position manages the group that procures material for products of medium to high complexity for electronics manufacturing. The duties will include but not be limited to the evaluation of preferred suppliers with risk analysis, management/negotiation of the sourcing and supplier selection, and the identification of process improvements and implementation thereof. The spend for this position is $80M and there are 5+ direct reports. This position is located in Illinois.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical-related field with 10+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience and a minimum of 5 years in Electronic Component purchasing/sourcing. Manufacturing operations experience is required. The proper candidate will possess excellent communication and analytical skills. Supplier KanBan and JIT experience is a key component. Travel expectancy is 25%, both foreign and domestic. CPIM/CPM and/or APICS is a plus.
